Sustainable Flower Farming in Maine

Why purchase flowers from an organic farm?

The floral industry is a large contributor to pollution. Flowers are grown using extremely toxic pesticides, not allowed on food crops. Purchasing sustainably grown flowers from a local farm is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint, while bringing seasonal flowers to your home.

What are sustainable flowers?

Sustainable flowers or slow flowers mean flowers grown with sustainable farming practices at a cut flower farm and harvested in their natural season of bloom. Sourcing floral designs from as close to you as possible and making sure they are produced using green, chemical-free design techniques is another way to make sure your floral arrangements aren't harming the environment.

Why we grow organic sustainable flowers

We believe that growing organic, specialty cut flowers are a beautiful way to celebrate Maine's natural growing power while producing beautiful seasonal florals for our customers to enjoy. On the farm, we produce a volume of diverse and gorgeous blooms, with my selection of specialty varieties and colorations. This variety contributes to the health of pollinators demonstrated in the abundance of bees, butterflies & more we see in our fields.

Making sustainable arrangements

Each arrangement we make at Leafsong Family Farm begins with hand-selecting flowers for you. I love learning about each of my customers’ palettes & flower preferences so that I pair the right flowers for my clients’ perfect bouquets. With organic & sustainable flowers, my floral artistry, whether for home arrangements or wedding florals, and my personalized customer service, you receive the ultimate customer floral experience. This is my art, with flowers!
